You either love horse racing or you don’t – I like it, I’ve been brought up watching it and attending horse races and I think I will always like it. The one thing I have never managed to do yet is attend one of the big events and I definitely want to tick that off of my bucket list. Royal Ascot is one of those events and the 2014 event starts this Tuesday. Whilst I am not going to make it to this one, I hope to make it in the future..but what would I wear?
I think when it comes to these big racing events, it pays to stay classy – and since I love a short dress but don’t like to get my bare legs out, a Peter Pan collared dress plus some opaque tights would be the perfect choice for me. Add in some black flats (heels aren’t very practical in a horse racing ground although that doesn’t stop plenty of women giving it a go anyway!). A simple cuff would add some sparkle to the mix and of course, you need a clutch bag rather than anything bigger – big enough to hold your winnings but not bulky!

I went to Newmarket once and it was fun. I wore a hat!! I thought, stuff it, how often do I get the chance. : ) I like your outfit choice, cute, simple and stylish. I don't get my bare legs out either! : ) x

My nan was always a fan of the horse racing and we would sit looking over the form pages for ages. I hope that one day I'll make it to Ascot, it looks an amazing event
