I’ve always wanted to visit Corfu, Greece. In 2018, I was lucky to experience this gorgeous island and finally cross it off my travel destinations bucket list. You can read about a dreamy experience in Corfu here and even watch a Corfu Island vlog. Today, I want to share with you my traveling bucket list. It comprises a collection of exotic, picturesque, and culturally diverse destinations that I have dreamt of visiting for years. Each place has its allure and holds a special place in my heart.
I must add that my bucket list doesn’t require the world record lottery jackpots to come true. With smart planning and budgeting, which I am good at, I can cross these destinations off my list one by one.
So, here are my top 9 travel destinations and the reasons why I am eager to embark on these unforgettable journeys.
1. Machu Picchu, Peru
Machu Picchu has long enthralled my imagination. Perched high atop Peru’s Andes Mountains, this ancient Inca citadel exemplifies architectural brilliance and natural splendour – it has long been my dream to trek along its Inca Trail and visit this magical wonder and experience its crisp mountain air, lush greenery, ancient ruins, breathtaking sunrise views over its stone structures and breathe it all in for myself!
2. Santorini, Greece
The allure of Santorini’s picturesque landscapes and charming whitewashed villages overlooking the azure Aegean Sea has enchanted me for years. The island’s unique volcanic beaches, quaint cobbled streets, and awe-inspiring sunsets offer a dreamy escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I envision myself strolling through the narrow alleys of Oia, indulging in delicious Greek cuisine, and soaking in the tranquil beauty of this island paradise.
3. Kyoto, Japan
Japan’s enchanting city of Kyoto beckons with its rich cultural heritage, ancient temples, and exquisite gardens. As an admirer of traditional Japanese art and architecture, I am eager to witness the vibrant cherry blossoms in bloom, visit iconic landmarks such as Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), and partake in a traditional tea ceremony. Kyoto’s blend of modernity and tradition promises a unique and immersive experience that I am eager to embrace.
4. Iceland
Iceland’s otherworldly landscapes of glaciers, geysers, waterfalls, and volcanoes have lured me with their raw beauty. Witnessing the dazzling Northern Lights dancing across the night sky is surreal. Moreover, I can’t wait to take a dip in the geothermal hot springs of the Blue Lagoon, explore the rugged landscapes of Vatnajökull National Park, and marvel at the powerful cascades of the Gullfoss waterfall.
I am really curious about driving around Iceland and the whole experience of it. It’s a road trip for the ages I’ve been told, some traveling self-sufficiently in campervans and having the time of their lives outdoors. I’d like to embark on one great adventure in Iceland myself and see as much of the country.

5. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
My heart yearns for an encounter with the diverse wildlife and captivating landscapes of the Serengeti. The idea of witnessing the annual Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras traverse the plains in search of greener pastures, fills me with awe. A safari adventure here promises sightings of majestic lions, elegant giraffes, and elusive leopards, making it a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise.
6. New York City, USA
The energetic rhythm of New York City, with its iconic skyline, Broadway shows, and cultural diversity, has always fascinated me. Times Square, Central Park, and the Statue of Liberty symbolize this metropolis’s vibrancy and spirit. Exploring the museums, savouring diverse cuisines, and immersing myself in the city’s fast-paced ambiance are some of the many reasons why I am eager to step into the Big Apple.
7. The Maldives
As an ocean lover, the Maldives’ pristine white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant coral reefs call out to me. The thought of staying in an overwater bungalow, waking up to the gentle sound of waves, and snorkelling with colourful marine life is a dream I long to fulfil. The Maldives represents the ultimate tropical paradise and promises a serene escape from the world’s worries.
8. Petra, Jordan
Petra, the ancient Rose City, is a historical gem that I’ve been captivated by ever since I saw it in pictures and movies. Carved into the rose-red cliffs of southern Jordan, this UNESCO World Heritage site showcases the architectural brilliance of the Nabateans. The opportunity to walk through the narrow Siq, with its towering rock walls, and then witness the grandeur of the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) emerge before my eyes is an experience I can only imagine in my dreams. Exploring the intricately carved tombs, amphitheatre, and monastery promises to transport me back to an era of splendour and mystery.
9. The Great Barrier Reef, Australia
A lover of marine life and an avid scuba diver, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. The world’s largest coral reef system offers a kaleidoscope of colours and biodiversity beneath its cerulean waters. Swimming alongside vibrant corals, encountering graceful sea turtles, and witnessing the graceful dance of manta rays are experiences that beckon me to this natural wonder. Not only do I yearn to explore the diverse marine ecosystem, but I am also drawn to the opportunity to learn about reef conservation and the measures being taken to protect this precious underwater paradise.

Each destination on my bucket list holds a unique charm that ignites my passion for travel and exploration. From the ancient wonders of Machu Picchu to the modern allure of New York City, these destinations offer a diverse range of experiences that appeal to my wanderlust soul.
