Enjoying Some Me Time As A New Mum

Collaborative Post

Some of you may know this already but I recently became a mum again for the third time, to a little baby girl called Hannah. The pregnancy wasn’t the easiest and the first few weeks (she is now seven weeks) have been a little tough, to say the least. She wasn’t putting on weight at first and then was putting it on very slowly but we finally seem to be turning a corner and the GP was very happy with her at our 6 week check.

I’m now thinking about how to enjoy a little bit of me time when I get the opportunity. It doesn’t happen very often as a breastfeeding mum who is feeding on demand so when I get the chance to grab some sparkling tea or just five minutes to myself, I do! Sleep is a real luxury right now so if I am able to get some me time, that will do if I can’t catch some zzz’s!

Even though the time I get to myself is very limited, I wanted to share with you how I enjoy some me time as a new mum.

A Nice Bubble Bath

A bubble bath without any interruptions is pretty much unheard of with three children and two dogs – there is always someone bursting in! However when I do get the chance, it is so nice to just chill out in some lovely warm bubbly scented water and just relax for a few minutes.

A Good Book

I love reading but never really get the chance to catch up with my ever growing to be read pile. I was given a few books I really wanted for Christmas and my birthday and I am slowly starting to work my way through them. Nothing beats a good book for a bit of relaxation.

A Nice Walk

I don’t get out on my own too often and I will admit that I probably do this one with Hannah, rather than without. However a nice walk around my local area or around the common in my home village is a great way to enjoy some me time, get some fresh air and some exercise and catch up with my own thoughts!

Listen To Some Music

What is your favourite genre of music? I love a few different types – my playlist is all over the place – but some cheesy pop or a thrilling rock tune can really make my day. I usually listen to music when travelling in the car with the family or when I am in the kitchen and don’t spend much time listening to it elsewhere so when I get the chance, that’s great!

These are just a few of the ways I enjoy some me time as a new mum and as a mum of three. Whilst some may have to be done with Hannah, this isn’t too bad as she is still small enough to sleep quite a lot so it seems like I’m alone, haha!

What sort of things do you do to enjoy some me time?
