You may have noticed that posting over the last year has been a little sporadic. That’s because our lives have been upside down and all ways but the right way up and life has been a little hectic and a little tough. Work became a lot busier and we have spent most of the year in temporary accommodation, waiting to see what is going to happen to us and our living situation.
We finally had some good news recently and we are moving into a permanent place very soon – so time has been spent packing. But I wanted to talk to you about self storage and why you might want to consider it.
We had to move into a small flat with the kids sharing a room and which wouldn’t fit half of our stuff – the options were to get rid (and we weren’t prepared to do that, especially to the kids stuff) or find somewhere to store it. Whilst our downsizing wasn’t forced by us, we know that sometimes people choose to. Whether it is intentional or not, sometimes you don’t have time to work through it all to see what you want to keep so utilising a storage facility gives you a little bit of breathing space that you can work with.

Like I mentioned above, sometimes the need for storage space comes quite quickly and that means we need to find somewhere for our possessions. A self storage facility offers the option of storing something quickly and then moving it out at your own leisure – you will find that many have quite reasonable and flexible contracts so you can utilise their space for as long or as short a time as you want!
You Need To For Your Business
Many people work from home nowadays and there is an increasing amount of people who are making stuff from home. I follow a few people on TikTok whose businesses have boomed after advertising on there and now they are so excited to be renting their own offices or storage facilities to store their products and sometimes even work from if they can. If you run a business from your home that is expanding quicker than you can potentially expand your home, a storage facility is a great option!
It Can Save You Money
You might be wondering how renting out storage space could save you money but as I mentioned above, the contracts can be pretty reasonably priced and may be better for you in the short term if this is just a temporary fix. If your business is expanding quickly, you need more space – but it is going to cost you far more to rent out a whole business premises or add space to your home then it is to pay a monthly fee for storage!
