How do you spend your free time? I don’t get much of it but when I do, I like to use it wisely and take the time to relax. I wanted to share with you some of my favourite ways to spend my free time. What are yours?
Reading
You may have probably guessed this but I love reading. I am participating in the Goodreads Reading Challenge for 2021 (I have already reached my goal and then some!) and love nothing more than settling down with a paperback or my Kindle and reading a few chapters. I even review many of the books here on my site!
Playing Games
Whether I am playing them on a console, my phone or the computer, I love playing games. I do love a good game of Solitaire because it is something I grew up playing and is somewhat of a comfort blanket. However I love using my mind and my observational skills and playing hidden object games too – they can be so fun yet so tricky sometimes!

What games do you like to play?
Listening To Music
I love to listen to throwbacks from my childhood – I have a number of different playlists that I listen to. Some rockier ones from my teenage years then the pop tunes, girl bands and boy bands I loved as a child. Sometimes there is nothing better than relaxing on the sofa doing nothing but listening to some of my favourite songs.
Writing
I don’t do this as much nowadays – relaxed writing, that is – as I write so much during the day for work. But sometimes I love to sit down with a notepad and pen or even just with a document open up on my laptop and write as much as I can. I’ve got numerous works in progress scattered across various files on my laptop and various notebooks. Some may not ever see the light of the day but it can be a great way to relax!
Napping
I try not to do this too often as I don’t find it a productive use of my time but sometimes a nap is the only thing you need to make you feel better. I don’t tend to sleep well at night and with kids constantly coming in and out, it can be tough to even get anywhere near the optimum amount of sleep. So sometimes when I have some free time, I decide to have a cat nap – it can often set me up so much better for the hours following.
Long Soak In The Bath
A long soak in the bath is often a great use of my me time. I can read or play games, even write, so I can kill two birds with one stone. Grab a bath bomb, fill the tub up to the top and then get in and relax!
Catch Up With My Shows
Now I don’t know about you but I have various watchlists across the different streaming platforms available. I always try to catch up with a few episodes of one of my TV shows when I get the time. We are currently on season 8 of Grey’s Anatomy and season 5 of Schitt’s Creek. What are you watching right now?
These are just a few ways I spend my free time – how about you?

When I have any spare time I really enjoy doing puzzle books
I must admit, I spend a lot of time on YouTube these days and Netflix. I have been trying to find some games to sharpen my brain, may have a look at solitaire.
Oh I dream of being able to do these things! Taking a long soak in the bath is one of my favourite ways to relax after a hard day 🙂
Honestly, I have very little free time so I’m super envious that you get to do so much. I would love to have a long soak in the bath, but due to time constraints only have showers now.
I love doing all of those things, especially relaxing in the bath and reading, although I don’t get as much time to do it as I’d like x
I usually spend my spare time watching Marvel or Disney movies. I have started reading this year too
These are fabulous ways in which you relax, when I get the chance, I love reading, listening to music and watching Netflix
These are some great ways to spend some time . I won’t lie , I tend to work in my spare time which I need to stop !
I have to admit, I really do need to learn to spend my spare time relaxing rather than rushing around doing all the jobs that need doing and then feeling exhausted lol! When I do get a rare moment to myself a love to just have a hot bubble bath and an early night.
