We were recently sent the new Escape room gift packs for review. I am talking about The Zoo today. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
I love an escape room so the idea of an escape room pack at home sounded like a lot of fun! Jack had seen a lot about these so was very happy to have the opportunity to review them.
Who Are TRAPPED?
Trapped Exit Room Games from Golden Bear Toys launched last year and were really popular. This year three new games have been released: The Zoo, Mission To Mars and Flight 827.

The Trapped games are perfect for 6 players so are perfect for a games night. You can keep it at home or take it away on holiday with you in your suitcase.

We are reviewing The Zoo pack.
What Comes In The Pack?
Everything you could need to turn any room in your home into an escape room. It comes complete with instructions, clue reader, posters, clues, solutions and props. You also get a tape sheet and bulldog clip for sticking stuff to walls or using the pack as a clipboard.

You will need to pop certain things up on the wall or place them on counters or windowsills. Others, such as the meerkat enclosures, will need to be made.
Who Can Play?
Anyone in the family, from two to six players! It is for ages 8+ although Olivia did want to get involved too!
What Do You Need To Do?
You need to solve the puzzles to save the meerkats! Imagine it is your annual trip to the zoo and the meerkats have escaped! It is your mission to track them down and return them safely to their enclosure. Will you be able to find them all?
There are real codes that you need to crack and tests that you need to pass, just like a real escape room. It takes between 1-2 hours to complete the game.

Even if you are the person setting it up, you can play too. All clues are face down and the red bordered side of the card is what is on show. These pieces will tell you whether they need to be stuck to a wall or placed on the surface. It does take a while to set it up so bear that in mind if you are looking for a quick game – this is a game that you take your time with.
The puzzles can be solved in any order until you finally see if you have collected all the meerkats back up. Clues can be solved using the handy clue reader which hides other clues for you.

What Did We Think?
We had a lot of fun trying to work out the clues for The Zoo however we will definitely be giving it another go when we have more people round to make it even more fun.
We love doing games or puzzles as a family and this was a great way of getting us to work together. It was a little confusing at times – Jack is only 9 so just over the minimum age limit and sometimes required a little help. Olivia, of course being four, did not understand but enjoyed it when we solved the clues!

This would definitely be a fun thing to do for birthday parties or a sleepover and we will definitely be trying this again when Jack has some friends round. It is great that it is portable so he can also take it to a friends house if he likes.
We were very impressed and can’t wait to play again!
