We were sent some Anti-Bacterial Slime to review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
My kids love slime – much like many other children, I am sure. They love playing with it and it is something they both enjoy playing with together.
With personal health and hygiene having been such a prominent theme in the past year and sanitising hands becoming second nature, the introduction of this Anti-Bacterial Slime could not have been more timely. We were kindly asked if we would like to review some and of course, I said yes!

It can be hard for children to understand the important of good personal hygiene and they often find it hard to use the normal dispensers – especially ones in public which are usually positioned for adults and are hard for kids to reach.
What Is Anti-Bacterial Slime?
It is a unique product, new to the market and the first of its kind. It is child safe and is an anti-bacterial slime that kills over 99.9% of germs. It can be used over and over and is alcohol free. The anti-bacterial properties last up to one month.

Created by Canal toys and available in single packs or 4 pack tubes (£9.99) from Smyths Toys and Amazon online, they are bound to be popular.
With kids loving to play with slime but sometimes neglecting their personal hygiene, this is a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
Why Is Slime Popular With Kids?
Slime is popular with kids. That cannot be denied.
But why?
Science Focus says that it is because it engages a child’s senses, helps to stimulate their creativity and have a calming effect in the moment. Plus it can also trigger their curiosity. Katie Lear talks about how it helps to strengthen fine motor skills and how it is an appealing alternative to screen time.

Whilst it can be messy, the benefits of slime cannot be denied and if children love it too, surely that is a win/win.
But what did we think of the Anti-Bacterial Slime we were sent to review?
Our Thoughts
The kids have really enjoyed testing out this Anti-Bacterial slime product from Canal Toys. They adore playing with slime and really enjoyed the feel of this. Jack was especially interested in its antibacterial properties due to the packaging saying ‘Play & Clean’. He has been very aware of the events of the past year and so he was intrigued by how it worked and if it worked.

The slime feels exactly like you would expect – slimy! The colours are impressive – a turquoise blue and a purple and you can see which the kids chose – Olivia seems to have a compulsion for all things purple!
It is easy to play with, mould around in your hands and pull apart as you can see. Both Jack and Olivia loved seeing how long they could stretch it out – let me tell you, it stretches out quite a long distance!

I love how it comes – packaged in small pots and with a small plastic lid seal to pop over the slime to keep it fresh. The pots are a great size and easy to store in the kids craft cupboards.
My kids have been playing with this for a couple of weeks now and find it really fun to play with. I think Jack especially likes the concept – he struggles with the anti-bacterial hand sanitiser they use at school as it hurts his hands but this does not irritate him. Olivia is in the current stage of hating washing her hands or anything personal hygiene related – but she is more than happy to handle this, haha!
Would you give this a try?

I’ve never heard of anti-bacterial slime but what a fantastic idea! I don’t know any kids that wouldn’t love to play with slime (my daughter has loads of it!). Fab review 🙂
Wow what an amazing idea! So many kids don’t want to use hand sanitizer etc so this is a fantastic product!
The range of colours is great. We have some too and the kids looove playing with it. Such a great idea!
I like that this is anti-bacterial. But slime is officially banned from my house. Since my son likes to get it all stuck in the carpets.
Antibacterial slime – now there’s a clever concept! Sounds like a wonderful way to get the young ones to keep their hands clean.
The girls are mad on slime , we have it everywhere , but slime that also cleans?!? Well I definitely need this in my life
I’ve never heard of anti-bac slime before but it sounds like such an incredible idea for kids in general, but especially right now. I know I would have loved something like this when I was a kid!
Sounds great that it’s anti-bacterial! My daughter just loves slime at the moment so I will have to get some of these as she loves bright colours.
