Hen parties typically involve lots of alcohol and partying, but if you’re expecting a baby then of course- the boozy nights are firmly out. However, it’s not to say that you can’t still enjoy a fun hen celebration before your big day. If you’re lucky enough to be expecting a baby AND getting married, here’s how you can have a great time with your hens before your big day.
Pamper day
What better way to enjoy time with friends as well as look after your pregnant body than with a pamper day? You could book a day in a spa with a swim in the pool and some nice beauty treatments, or you could arrange a pamper day at home with face masks, manicures and pedicures. There are massage companies that cater especially for your hens party and will come out and provide everything you need for a pampering massage in your home. You can relax, have fun and leave the experience feeling refreshed and looked after- rather than with a stinking hangover like most hen parties!

Afternoon tea
If you’re after an elegant daytime activity then afternoon tea could be the perfect choice. With it being an increasingly popular activity, most restaurants and cafes offer it these days and so you can go to one of your favourite places. Finger sandwiches, scones and cream and cakes are served with tea and coffee, but there’s usually the option to upgrade to a glass of fizz if that’s what your guests would prefer. Afternoon tea works for larger groups as well as small and intimate hen parties so it’s a good choice for just about all occasions.
If you like the idea of getting together for a meal but would prefer something more of an evening affair then why not book a table at a restaurant? It’s something that everyone will enjoy, and again your friends are able to drink if they want to but the theme of the night isn’t centred around alcohol. Theatre
The theatre is more glamourous than the cinema and a chance to dress up without the need to drink or go to a bar or party. You could have this as an evening activity after going for afternoon tea or a pamper day during the day, if you wanted to make a full day of your celebrations.
