Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Season 2 | Review

We were sent some items from the Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Season 2 range to review.

Jack is a huge fan of Hatchimals – see our review of the Hatchimals Surprise here – and has seen the Hatchimals CollEGGtibles around and desperately wanted some. We recently received some of the season 2 range to review. Hatchimal CollEGGtibles are a pocket money collectable and are a more affordable alternative to their larger alternatives.

With this new launch, we received the 1 pack (£2.99), the 2 pack with a nest (£4.99) and the 4 pack that comes with a bonus character (£9.99). There’s even some new playsets available to buy – the Hatchimals Basket (£19.99) and the Hatchimals Secret Scene Playset (£24.99) – Jack is really keen to buy these!

There are over 100 new creatures to collect, nurture and learn about. There is also the chance to collect the Golden Hatchimal – this is the rarest Hatchimal and there is only 55 available to collect. If you find one of these Golden Lynx Hatchimals hidden inside season 2, you will win a special set of 6 golden Hatchimals CollEGGtibles in a glittery egg carton plus a goody bag – how cool!

Like the first series, you need to help bring the Hatchimals to life by rubbing the eggs to change the hearts colour from purple to pink. Once it is pink, it is ready to hatch and you will be surprised by the Hatchimal that hatches out of your egg. You can hatch a whole new world with some tiny cute creatures – and you can take them wherever you go!

So what Hatchimals did we receive? As with season 1, the majority of the range are common with some rare and the odd ultra rare or limited edition CollEGGtible. There are some differences when it comes to series 2 – the colour change technology and the fact that some have some different features too – some glitter, some sparkle. Jack couldn’t wait to see what he ended up with after hatching his eggs. There are 11 different families your Hatchimal could be from – some limited edition and special edition families too!

We received these:

Common: Ponette from the ‘Farm’ family, Macow from the ‘Farm’ family, Toucoo from the ‘Jungle’ family, Pandor from the ‘Jungle’ family, Mouseswift from the ‘Garden’ family and Duckle from the ‘River’ family.

Rare: Figeon from the ‘River’ family.

Ultra Rare: Owling from the ‘Forest’ family.

We didn’t receive any limited edition Hatchimals CollEGGtibles but Jack was extremely happy to have a rare and an ultra rare in his collection! He can’t wait to get to the toy shop and pick up some more with his pocket money – here’s hoping we find a Golden Hatchimal!

If your child wants some more Hatchimal fun then there is even some digital webisodes and the free Hatchimals app that allows kids to explore Hatchtopia and find out more about it. Download the app today and you can hatch new friends from all over Hatchtopia, caring for them once they’ve hatched!

Are you interested in collecting the Hatchimals CollEGGtibles for yourself? They are available at all good retailers nationwide – find out more at www.hatchimals.com. They’re super fun and Jack loves his – I’m sure you will love yours too.
