Is 2015 The Year?

I’ve spoken at length before about our wish to move away from the village we live in now. Don’t get me wrong, we do love it here most of the time and I have the majority of my family here – but I want to make new memories with my family, not necessarily dredge up old memories – which is par for the course in a small village like this. Everyone knows your business whether it is true or not.

With some family packing up in 2015 and moving away from the area, Steve and I have spoken about spreading our wings a little too. Jack is still at a young age where it won’t be too big an adjustment and we’d get to experience somewhere a little different. Having lived at three different ends of the village, I’m not going to lie – I am sick of the sight of it now.

We’ve spoken before about places we would like to move to – Shropshire came up as did the Sussex/Kent border where our old caravan was based. We can’t decide if we want a fresh new start however or familiarity – we know Sussex and Kent with our eyes closed and Steve’s best friend lives in Shropshire with plenty of my blog friends just a short drive away.

Part of me wants that familiarity. Part of me wants to start afresh. Should I stay in Hertfordshire or look elsewhere for property – perhaps look at property for sale in Wiltshire or thereabouts – it has always been an area of the country I wanted to see more of – my Dad has visited in the past and raved about Salisbury and Marlborough – and my cousin adores Stonehenge and visits quite often – it would be great to live near to such prestigious places and landmarks.

Part of me also loves Cornwall – even though my friend doesn’t live there anymore, it was always such a lovely place to visit and the views were incredible. I’m spoilt for choice, I think. I’ll probably end up sticking round this area but its nice to have a dream, right? A dream of a nice country cottage, a gorgeous kitchen and my own personal library and office space. It will be mine one day – at least that’s something to work towards.

  1. Country cottage, a gorgeous kitchen and my own personal library – heck yeah. I hope you get a really nice place when you move.

  2. My dream was always to move to Cornwall/Devon – It's never going to happen, now, as we need to stay a certain distance from Skye but it's a lovely place to live.

Lots of the places you said aren't massively far from me so I approve 😉 xx

  3. Stay local… come to dunstable!!! Seriously though Shropshire is gorgeous… as is Kent. but don't leave me!
