Week 26 of my pregnancy diaries has finally rolled around and it was a quiet week compared to last’s weeks dramatics. We have all been a little poorly this past week – Jack in particular, him even leaving school one day in tears because he had such a bad headache because of his cold which luckily he slept off – but other than that, this week has been fairly quiet.
After last weeks midwife mishap, I actually saw one on Friday who booked me in for my Anti-D injection in a couple of weeks time – eek! I have to have injections during my pregnancy due to having rhesus negative blood. It isn’t something I’ve talked about much on the blog before but I would be happy to write a post about it if anyone was interested? It can be hard to explain to people who don’t have rhesus negative blood why I have to have specific injections throughout pregnancy.
I also had to book in my flu and whooping cough jabs which I’m having tomorrow morning after I’ve dropped Jack off at school. Hopefully they won’t leave me feeling too icky but I’ve already asked my mum if she can pick Jack up if they completely wipe me out as Steve’s at work all day and Jack’s school is a long walk across the other side of the village. I’m hoping I feel okay after the injections but my friends recently haven’t had quite so good experiences so I am a bit apprehensive. Better I feel a little bit poorly tomorrow though than I get flu or whooping cough and put my baby at risk though!
On another note, I finally have a bump picture! I’ve been really struggling to get a really good bump photo and I thought it would be funny to see what Jack’s photos would look like – turns out he managed to get the best of the lot! Baby girl is now apparently weighing around 2lbs and is approximately 35.5cm long – how crazy is that? Apparently she is also starting to practice using her little lungs ready for when she arrives. It is apparently possible with the increased brain activity that a baby will respond to certain noises with increased activity or even increased pulse rate – this is definitely true as Jack has taken to singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ to the bump the past few evenings and she definitely gets more active then – seems she likes her brothers singing!
As always, she is making tons of movement, her gymnastics skills are totally unrivalled and of course, she loves to ensure that she’s keeping me awake at night! Whilst it has been a quiet week, she has definitely made up for it by making her presence felt and Jack and Steve are both really loving being able to feel her move now. I also got to hear her heartbeat at my midwife appointment on Friday and the midwifes equipment was so loud, the whole waiting room heard her heartbeat through the closed door – both my parent’s neighbour (my neighbour when I was growing up) and one of the school mums who I am really close to were in the waiting room and they told me they had heard her little heartbeat – they were beaming, haha!
After last weeks worries, I’m glad this week has been so quiet. I’m interested to see how I feel this week once I’ve had my jabs…I’ll be sure to let you know!

Always find pregnancy fascinating. Does this pregnancy differ a lot from the other?

This couldn’t of happened to a lovely lady, little Jack is so lucky to have such a lovely mummy like you! I bet he can’t wait for the new arrival 😀 x

This sounds lovely! Can’t wait to see the little cutie 🙂
Having not had a child, it’s interesting to read about the times when a baby develops certain abilities! Sounds like things are going well and I hope everything continues to do so!
Congrats! I had no idea you were pregnant again. Is Jack excited?
It is certainly the time of year for coughs and colds, I’ve been suffering too. Hope you all feel better soon.
