I can’t believe I am already on week 23 of my pregnancy, it is mad how quickly it is going. This week has been a bit of a weird one. I haven’t really been up to much – Jack’s been at school and Steve’s had a week off work – but I’ve mostly spent time pottering around the house, doing housework or working.
This week many people have mentioned that my bump is really showing now – I’m still yet to get a proper pic of it for you guys – but it really is showing quite a lot! That has been the main topic of conversation this week and one of my friends is kindly giving me her old winter coat as the one I have certainly isn’t going to fit round my bump!
I’ve been quite exhausted this week and it isn’t as if I am doing anything different. I’m obviously getting up early to do the school runs and trying not to have a nap during the day otherwise I lose valuable working time whilst Jack is at school but I’ve been going to bed earlier and earlier. I don’t always fall asleep straight away but somehow its so much more relaxing to be lying in bed reading or talking to friends on social media.
I also received my letter for my Glucose Tolerance Test this week. I’ve had to ring up and rearrange as they arranged it for the one day that week I couldn’t do – the day Steve goes back to work after a few days off and the day of my next midwife appointment. I’ve managed to rearrange it for two days before but I am certainly not looking forward to it – I had one done with Jack and whilst I’m glad I had it done to ensure I knew the results (negative), things have changed dramatically since then and I’m paranoid I’m going to get diagnosed with gestational diabetes – I have increased risk this time around due to my Dad and sister both being diagnosed since Jack was born. I am also not looking forward to the fast – this pregnant lady likes her food!
The morning sickness really seems to have abated now but I do still have the odd nauseous episode. I haven’t really had any cravings as such except for the someone mentioning something and me having to have it right then! I’ve experienced a little bit of heartburn this week but nothing I can’t handle.
We’re still nowhere closer to deciding on a name – its still very much debating the shortlist and seeing what she seems like when she arrives – but that doesn’t stop me poring over baby name books and websites!
I’m hoping to get all of Jack’s baby clothes down this week to sort out so I can store some of baby girls things away properly. Wish me luck!
