E-cigarettes aren’t something I ever thought about testing on this blog but when we are currently trying to pay debts off, save for a number of different things and make changes to live a healthier lifestyle, sometimes we need a little help. In the (almost) six years that Steve and I have been together we have both changed dramatically. The only thing that hasn’t changed? He hasn’t stopped smoking. Sure he has cut down and he obviously changed his habits once Jack came along (always smokes outside, changes his clothes and washes his hands etc). But when we are trying to cut back on spending wherever we can, cigarettes were always the one thing that slipped through the net – and probably the most expensive too.

Steve has tried e-cigs in the past but hasn’t really got on with them too well. Step forward this e-cigarette. He was sent a parcel which contained the battery, charger, four parts of the Fruitecigs Aspire K1 Glassomizer and some e-liquid. Putting the glassomizer together was pretty simple and took a matter of seconds. It is easy to clean after use as it can be taken completely apart – this isn’t necessarily a feature on all e-cigarettes.

The battery has an adjustable voltage system on it which is quite unique – this means the person using it can adjust the kick of it meaning they can get a higher or lower strength of the liquid. This is great if a typical ecig is too heavy handed or not heavy handed enough. The charger is great as it can be plugged into USB socket and charged – Steve will often charge it in the computer or laptop when one of us is on it.

Whilst Double Menthol isn’t a flavour Steve particularly likes, he was pleasantly surprised by this one. This wasn’t as strong as he expected it to be and delivered a nice kick. He still has a variety of e-liquids from his old ecigs to keep him amused too.

I suppose you’re all wondering…has this helped him to kick the habit??

Well…not quite. He is still partial to the odd cigarette but he has cut down dramatically, especially at home. In fact, he barely goes out for a cigarette anymore – if he has a day off, he will often reach early evening without having reached for a cigarette. Whilst hopefully one day he will be completely off the cigarettes, this is a welcome addition in aiding him on that journey – and also doesn’t burden our bank balance as much!
