Review of 2015 | How Did I Do?

I started making goal posts at the beginning of the year but didn’t continue with them. This is something I want to change in 2016 and as I share my review of 2015, I am thinking towards my goals for the year ahead.

So how did I do exactly? Let’s take a look! I’m sharing my blogging goals and my health & fitness goals as they were the ones I made for the year ahead, the monthly ones aren’t going to be revisited here.

review of 2015

My Health & Fitness Goals

Meal Plan – I managed this for the majority of the year, more so when I started Slimming World. It really helped us to use up items we had in the freezer or cupboards and we found some new favourite meals too.

Exercise – I haven’t really done *that much* exercise in 2015 but I have started walking a lot more. I want to get back into exercising in 2016.

Use it up  – I have tried doing this as much as possible with the items that only one person likes in the house such as spinach. I have tried using them up in smoothies and things like that.

Be prepared – I totally failed at this although I do have two smoothie bags in the freezer for whenever I want them so two in 365 days isn’t too bad, right?

Stop making excuses – Well I certainly didn’t keep to this one! 2016 is the year of no excuses, it’s my year.

My Blogging Goals

To find a better balance – I did find a better balance somewhat in 2015 but I am still hoping to get it perfect in 2016. I want to have normal working hours and be able to spend other time with my family.

Keep to a posting schedule – Again I have kept to this somewhat but I plan to change that for the better in 2015. I miss being scheduled in advance, I don’t want to be writing up the night before!

To reach a million pageviews – No idea if this happened as my Google Analytics mucked up so I had to reinstall – sad times!

Get back to guest posting again – This didn’t really happen this year and I am sad about that. I want to change this in 2016 if I can.

Utilise Pinterest and Google+ more – I have definitely given Pinterest more thought this year but Google+ has fallen by the wayside as I just don’t get it, sorry.

Keep to my new strategy and say no – I’ve been more confident this year and said no when I felt like people were taking the mick out of me a little. I want to continue being more confident in my blog and myself next year.

So there you have it – my review of 2015 and how I did, goals-wise! If you set yourself goals, how did you do this year?

  1. What a lovely post, it’s so nice of you to share your 2016 goals! Definitely a bit of inspiration for those of us who haven’t set them yet. x

  2. I think you did quite well with your 205 goals and the 2016 goals you have set for yourself, I am more than sure you will achieve x

  3. Definitely don’t be too hard on yourself for your progress, considering you set a lot of goals you did pretty well! And yeah 2 prepped smoothies is good! 😉

  4. Great blogging goals. I need to take the time to write down some blogging goals for next year. The problem is I haven’t got time to do it because it’s such a struggle to keep up with work and blogging – it’s a vicious circle! Happy new year, all the best for 2016.x

  5. I like to hear goals and I’ve been thinking I should set some blogging goals myself. Finding balance is always a tricky one, I’ve been struggling to get this right for the last few years, juggling so many things can be difficult.

  6. Two smoothies is better than none 😉 I am just starting to think about G+. I’ve only just found out how to make my posts public, so it is slow progress for me! It is a great idea to review your goals from last year. Finding that work/life balance is very tricky and I’m glad you were able to get it nearer to how you want it to be in 2015. Good luck with continuing with these goals in 2016. I’m looking forward to reading your new goals. Happy New Year!

  7. This is a great post. I hope to achieve near the same goals as you for 2016 too. Happy new year x

  8. Great post! I think 2 smoothies is better than none at all 😉 I’m hoping to get back into more exercise in 2016, I used to be always at the gym but got lazy as it got nearer to winter! I hope 2016 is a good year for you 🙂 xx

  9. Some great ideas on these lists. In terms of blogging, I’m hoping to use Pinterest more too and begin to schedule posts in advance x

  10. I’m totally with you re ‘finding a balance’!! Working from home, being a mum to twin toddlers and blogging is a tricky combination! I found I really struggled to get a good balance this year. Fingers crossed we both manage to do it in 2016! 🙂 Happy new year to you lovely! xx

  15. I think you did pretty well! I exercised about 10 times in the whole year haha! I want to find a better balance in 2016 too x

  16. I always find looking back and reviewing a year a very positive thing to do and helps you move forward – good for keeping to the meal plans and I too need to be more prepared and organised in 2016. I also need to have more of a blogging schedule – can’t wait to see how you get on in 2016

    Laura x

  17. Great post – I must set some actual goals for the year – it is so interesting to look back and see how it went! Kaz x

  18. My personal goal this year is to reach a specific weight which I’m determined to do. I also have blog goals, similar to yourself like better time management. I’m forever procrastinating x

  19. Good luck with your goals, I was ridiculously rubbish at keeping to mine too especially the healthy eating one! I don’t utilise g+ or pinterest nearly enough either and I do get a fair bit of traffic from pinterest too. Good luck with your goals and maybe you will give me the nudge to keep up with mine x

  20. My blog ones are quite similar to yours, I need to get organised and schedule more but I love hitting publish and making it live! I feel I have ticked it off then!
