We all like to have some spare cash around Christmas time, right? That little extra so we can get the present that our child really desires or can buy that box of chocolates that you all love to indulge in over the festive season.
But what ways are there to make extra cash for Christmas? I’ve talked before about how to make some extra money via side hustles and here are my top 5 ways to make some extra cash for Christmas:
1. Declutter
If your child is desperate for a specific toy (Jack is desperate for a talking Buzz Lightyear and they aren’t cheap!), think about decluttering some of your old stuff, especially their toys. I’ve seen loads of people doing this recently, making some space for new toys and making some cash too, easing the strain on the Christmas purse.
2. Online surveys
Moan and groan all you like but some survey sites are worth it. I like to test them all out – if I find that they aren’t for me, I will cut them out from my list and keep to the ones that are worth it for me. I talk about some of my favourite sites here.
3. Sell your old phone
If you’re anything like the majority of people I know, you will have a few old phones lying around the place which could potentially make you cash. We always have a spare lying around but recently noticed we had about four phones we weren’t using, we didn’t need that many spares! Most of them are Steve’s so he will decide what to do with them but I will probably sell my phone to add a little more cash to the Christmas budget.
4. Apps, apps, apps!
It sounds crazy but there are so many money making apps out there now. Some designed for surveys, some for chatting. A friend of mine won £1000 on a chat app just last week! There are so many apps to earn cash
5. Cashback sites
Let’s face it, you are probably already buying some Christmas presents so why not go through a cashback website and earn some money back on those purchases? It soon adds up and will be a nice little bonus come Christmas!

I have tried survey sites before but end up forgetting about them, I probably have money on a few of them but can’t remember which!
I use a cash back site for my online shopping and have got loads from it. Recently sorting life insurance, I got £80 for my husband and £60 cash back for me as well as selling my old phone for £70 and then getting £65 for my new phone contract x

Yep….Definitely looking at apps to make money. I did one before as a pilot and I got £10 in amazon vouchers, just for watching adverts.
