Garden Ornaments
Garden decorations have come a long way from the humble gnome, although those guys are pretty funky looking these days. Figures and statues for the garden have blown up over the last few years with style to suit everyone. Even someone with a taste for horror movies can goth up their garden with zombie gnomes or graveyard mini tomb plant name tags. There is an abundance of kooky items that you can use to decorate your garden that have no use but look amazing.
Choose unusual plants
You might be tempted to put the same plants as your neighbours but this can be pretty boring. Choose plants that are native to your area that people rarely grow. Not only will you give your garden a different look from everyone else’s, but you will also attract local bugs into the garden and allow local nature to thrive. You could even pop them in some planters to enhance their unusual qualities.
Pavements and patios
If Pinterest is anything to go by, the world of patios has seen an upgrade over the last few years. Outdoor tiles are adding a new dimension to patios and helping create new outdoor rooms. You can go as creative as you want when it comes to the design of the patio, and you could create a feature out of it. The great thing about patios and pavements is that they can last longer than wooden deckings and can be easier to maintain. And if you have tiles, all you have to do is give them a mop to keep them shiny.

Fire Pits
After a long day in the sun, when the world is cooling down, there is nothing nicer than sitting outside by a fire pit. A fire pit does not have to be boring. In fact, metal fire pits can be made into any shape you want. Some of the more interesting pits have been shaped in a way that they create a silhouette, such as a globe. You can even get charcoals shaped like skulls that glow as they burn. Now that is definitely unusual and a little bit creepy. Fire pits are more interesting than patio heaters but there is no rule that says you have to have one or the other.
Upcycling
Recycling and upcycling are big news at the minute as everyone tries to cut down on their carbon footprint. Using old tea sets and containers in the garden is a great way to upcycle the things you no longer use. For a long time, welly boots were the go-to item for hanging on the fence as a plant pot, but there is no reason why you can’t be creative. Old baths and sinks would definitely be features in the garden. Or, if you are really brave, upcycle an old toilet as a multi-plant holder with a twist.
