Current Skincare Routine

This was a post requested by the lovely Maxi quite a while ago now (sorry, Maxi!) and I will admit my routine does slightly change when trying out products for the blog, however this is the combination I currently seem to be coming back to. I do use an exfoliator as well (not pictured) but this isn’t included as I have so many and am constantly changing them up.

Morning routine
My morning routine is relatively simple. I start with washing my face with a small amount of the Clearasil Perfectawash*. I am currently on my second ‘pot’ of this – after using the first one up, I did fall out of love with the product for a while, however rediscovered it a couple of months ago, popped the new pot in and fell in love all over again. Whilst I don’t suffer with acne, I do find my skin always seems a little clearer after use. I then apply a little of the Vita-E Vitamin E Cream* (review) This is my third tub now, I believe. I do fall in and out of love with it but find that although it is quite a thick cream, it is perfect for a light cream throughout the day. It leaves my skin feeling bright and I feel confident enough to face the day with this on my face.

Evening routine
When it comes to the evening, I, of course, do the usual. Cleanse, tone, moisturise – with added exfoliator of choice. I start off with either the Avene Gentle Gel cleanser – a product I received when I tried out the Skin Diagnosis on the Avene website (click here to find out your diagnosis) and I have to admit they got it spot on, I may cry when I finish this! – or the old favourite, my Pond’s Cold Cream. Which one I use depends on how my skin is feeling – if it is feeling extra sensitive, I will use the Avene, other days the cream will be my weapon of choice.

I then tone with my ROC Demaquillage Actif toner which sadly seems to have been discontinued. Toning isn’t something I did regularly until recently and I don’t really notice any results from using this. I will be using it up and then looking to other products to try out. I do want to try out more ROC products in the future though (despite the price point) as my Aunt swears by ROC and Nivea and her skin is flawless. After toner, I use my Savar Essential Hydration moisturiser. I have numerous moisturisers (unopened, of course) in my collection so it was a game of pot luck when I last finished one and this was what I pulled out. It definitely leaves my skin feeling hydrated and supple and I will be thinking about repurchasing it once I’ve depleted my collection.

I am currently also using the Balance Me Wonder Eye cream which I’ve almost used up – I’ve been recommended Eysilix but what would you suggest?

Love skin care posts, but I always get a wee irk of jealousy as you all get to use whatever moisturiser you want but I have to get mine from the doctors as my face decided it doesn't like stuff I can buy in boots – anointing as it just sits on my face. I need to wait till bedtime to put it on.
I wanna check out that clearasil wash – that looks pretty neat (did I just say neat? Oh, shut up eilidh!). Xo

    1. Awwwww! I used to be like this too, paraffin moisturisers every night. Urgh, eczema. |: Feel your pain!

Lovely post Bex! I might have to nip back to take inspiration when I get back on track with my skincare routine again, silly uni! xx
