My Happy Place

Right now (as you can probably see from myย last post), I am a little bit stressed. When this happens I retreat to my happy place – a corner of my living room where I can curl up and relax. I call it my little book nook but it is quite a mess at the moment. I’m currently waiting on a John Lewis voucher so I can purchase a couple more bookcases to fit all of my books on – yes, they are all pretty much confined to this corner.

At the top of the big bookcase is my signed books and other books that I have read that I want to keep. In the three middle shelves, it is mainly our DVD collection which we are slowly getting rid of and converting to Blu Ray. The two bottom shelves are my unread books which I’m hoping to read soon (and then either keep if I really love it or give to the charity shop if not)…and so are the piles on the floor which are waiting for a new bookcase plus the pile on top of the plastic boxes, oops! That is a lot of unread books!

Inside the plastic boxes are tons of my old books ย that I grew up with that I have kept for Jack but are still a little too old for him. Once we get some more bookcases, they will be getting moved into his room – yay!

Although it is my happy place, it is a total mess and I need to get it sorted – armed with my John Lewis vouchers, I’m keen to make it much more homely. Would you be interested in seeing a post on how I’ve changed it into my tiny little homely library? I can’t wait to get my hands on it and get started!
