We spent this past weekend down in Camber Sands where our caravan is based (which has been at the root of all problems recently but we won’t go into that!) and it was so nice to get away from the mundane and dreary day to day we are used to. What was also nice is that the change of surroundings seemed to do wonders for Jack too – even though he has been to the caravan before, he is far too young to remember it and also I do think the new experiences he had also helped his mood.
Until recently, myself and Steve have been encountering a dreaded case of the terrible two syndrome – even though he still has a way to go until his birthday yet! As mentioned in a previous post, we are looking towards getting him a new bed in the not too distant future as he seems to think he is some sort of escape artist and has currently taken to scaling his cot! We’re also thinking of completely changing his room around, especially if other children are on the cards. Whilst trying to adapt to changes in him- both physical and mental- and in the work/life balance too, it is also rather draining – there are only so many tantrums I can deal with in one day and I am finding it really hard at times, especially when Steve is at work and Jack tries it on, thinking I’m an easy touch.
Not many people really talk about the terrible twos apart from the fact it is a nightmare! I can’t seem to find any semblance of advice on how to deal with these constant tantrums – I know how to placate my normally happy child but what do I do when nothing seems to please him?
Do you have any advice?

The terrible twos are no fun. Reagan will be three in eight days and she still has her moments. Unfortunately there are times when soothing them is almost impossible.
That's when I typically put Reagan in her room and let her chill out on her own.
Good luck mama.
