When I was 11 or 12, I was lucky to be bless with absolutely flawless skin. I never used to think much of it until one day when one of my friends commented on it – she suffered badly from acne and was jealous that I had none.
A couple of weeks later, I had my first outbreak; much like every teenager does – I told myself that she had jinxed me as although her acne didn’t completely go away, it certainly cleared up and it seemed like I’d finally got my fair share!
Back when I was a teen (which isn’t that long ago, although it sure feels like it), all the advice doctors seemed to offer was to try some brand name product off the shelves. I never heard of any kinds of acne treatment until a few years ago, by which time my teenage acne had all but ceased. I would definitely have thought about something like this if it had been more widely available ten years ago when I needed it!
Sk:n Clinics offer such treatments and this is so handy as they have a variety of clinics around the country for you to take your pick from.
As you can see – by the age of 18/19, my teenage acne had all but disappeared but as I creep ever closer to my thirties, I am now desperately looking for ways to turn back the clock and remove all remaining acne with some laser treatment for acne. I don’t tend to get much acne now but every now and then when I get stressed, I do get a cluster of really painful pimples and they are something I am looking to obliterate in the near future! I could handle them if they weren’t so painful! I am definitely planning to visit Sk:n should this happen again!
Did you suffer from acne as a teenager or were you one of the lucky ones who didn’t get much at all?

Joe used to have it so bad, he has scars everywhere, he wants to get laser treatment for the ones on his chest as he is most conscious about those ones, I still suffer even now and have scars on my back! x
I had horrible acne from the time I was 8 or 9 (early puberty) until I took Accutane at 24. Now, it's returning! Hormones are just whack.
I use to have really bad acne but after I turned 17 they started to calm down and now I rarely get a spot. And right now I'm afraid to talk about it because I don't want to jinx it, haha!

I've been one of the unlucky ones and have suffered with acne now for half my life, mainly due to mild PCOS when I was younger and now it's the fertility drugs I'm taking. Sod's law though, now I'm 30, I'm starting to get wrinkles as well! You'd think that life would be kind enough to give you one or the other! 🙂 x
