My Dream Kitchen – How To Make A House A Home

This is a sponsored post

It seems that whenever we move into a new house, we have to compromise on space somewhere. In our cottage, it was the bedrooms – they were tiny in comparison to the huge kitchen. When we moved into this house, plenty of bedroom space was a must considering Jack would be in our room for a good couple of months. We had to lose space somewhere though – and that happened to be the kitchen.

Should we move again, Steve and I have said we want a fairly large kitchen and fairly large bedrooms – no compromises this time. You can barely move in our kitchen especially if there is more than one person in there – which makes using it when someone else is cooking  almost impossible.

I am by no means the cook in our house – that is definitely Steve – so obviously he has more of an idea of what he wants. Storage space is a must – we like to keep our cupboards stocked with food so need space to store other items.

Another thing we would need to invest in is a decent fridge freezer. We currently have a tiny undercounter fridge in our kitchen and a chest freezer in our dining room – a bigger kitchen would mean more space for a fridge freezer and would mean a dining room could be used as such!

We also currently have a tiny electric cooker. This isn’t perfect for us as we much prefer gas cookers – we aren’t sure why, we just do. Our old one at our cottage had a cooker hood over the hob which is another thing we will be looking for if we move into somewhere unfurnished. I don’t hate our house by any means – every room but the kitchen is a great size and there is ample storage space throughout the house but the kitchen falls short.

I think we all have an idea of our perfect home and just how each room is going to look – I’d love a space big enough to hold an island – there is just something so sleek and stylish about them, don’t you think?

I am sure I am not alone in wishing my kitchen looked like those kitchens you see in interior magazines or on cooking shows. Perhaps one day that dream can become a reality.
