Steve and I often discuss our perfect getaways and where we would like to go. There are numerous places on the list including Canada, Finland and New Zealand. If you are anything like us, you will often find yourself looking up the prices of flights and accommodation before you’ve even saved a penny towards your trip – so far this year I have already been on dream trips to France, Iceland and Canada!
We are quite lucky that we live close to London meaning there is a number of airports to choose from when planning a trip. Whilst it would certainly be easier to fly from London Luton, I often find that the best deals can be found from Heathrow or Gatwick.
I’ve been using Amadeus recently to plan my perfect holidays and actually created my own plan for Christmas in New York City. This site stems from Amadeus.com and is a new tool which uses search tools to streamline the booking process for holiday seekers. This free to use tool enables you to search for the cheapest flights available to you and even the cheapest day to fly – meaning you can plan accordingly!
Whilst you can’t purchase holidays through the site right now (all users are linked to their chosen website should they pick a certain deal), Amadeus are planning to expand the site in the future to include full holidays. Although I can’t afford a holiday right now, I am definitely going to have fun planning some fantasy holidays. Who knows? I may even see the perfect deal that I just won’t be able to resist!
If you like thinking about your fantasy holidays, you would love this site as you can create plans for as many holidays as you wish – these plans can also be set to public or private, it is completely up to you. My plan for this evening is to look up flights to see my cousin in New Zealand…
