Celebrating World Book Day With Viking

We were sent a box of crafting items to help us in creating this post. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

I am not the most crafty of people however Jack certainly is. He’s always sitting there making and creating things, drawing and writing. He absolutely adores books too so when we were contacted by Viking to see if we would like to receive a box of crafting items to help us to create some cool crafts for World Book Day, we just had to get involved. You can even see Viking’s own effort herewhy not check out Karalee’s creation too?

We were sent stamping ink, an ink pad, A4 paper in multiple colours, Sharpie pens, a paper punch, an A4 gold frame, old book paper and an alphabet stamp kit. There was also a book about Book Art to help with inspiration.

I wasn’t sure what Jack was going to go with – he has a few books/series that he absolutely adores but he has really been into the Harry Potter series lately so it is little wonder he opted for something Harry Potter related.

After sitting down and considering it for a little while, Jack finally had an idea and spent all afternoon putting it together. He used the alphabets stamp, some old book pages, the Sharpie pens and some A4 paper.

The majority of us have read the Harry Potter series and I am pretty sure many of us would love the opportunity to be able to play Quidditch. It is such a fascinating game with plenty of opportunities to score and win. Jack looked up what the different balls – Bludger, Quaffle and the Golden Snitch – and tried to include them all in his craft.

After many hours spent working on it, he finally showed me his creation – this Quidditch waver, complete with the different balls, the word Quidditch, a broomstick and much more!

I think it looks absolutely wonderful and I love that you can see how chuffed he is with the finished result. He does love to work hard on his creations and always strives for perfection. With our move imminent, I know he is super excited to add it to his room and to even add more crafts to the room too!

This was such a fun way to celebrate World Book Day – it is one of our favourite days of the year and Jack always enjoys it. Have you been making any fun bookish crafts recently? What are you doing to celebrate World Book Day?
