As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself wanting or wishing for less as each Christmas or birthday rolls around. Gone are the days where I wanted about a million things from the latest compilation CD to the newest fashion. My Christmas list always used to be pages long and of course, I got barely any of it as it just wasn’t feasible. But as I head towards my thirties as a mum of one, almost two, my wants and needs have changed and so my Christmas wishlist has too.
Up until a few weeks ago, I had no clue what I wanted but I’ve finally managed to whittle down the list to five things. What’s on your Christmas list this year?
Sleep
Since I know this is going to be in short supply come January once baby girl arrives, any sleep would be good right now. I’m struggling with sleeping constantly at the moment because of baby girl moving around and all those pregnancy aches and pains. Add in a five year old who’s catching all sorts of bugs and is really clingy at the moment plus a partner who works shift work and you’ve got a recipe for no sleep at all.
Home Appliances
We’ve been living here for almost five years now and haven’t had to replace any home appliances as yet but that day is surely do – a few are on their last legs and since I use them everyday, I’d be very grateful if I received one for Christmas. Better than something I’ll only use once, right? I’m most in need of a microwave right now – its used constantly in our house and will be even more once baby girl has arrived so I’ve been checking out the reviews on Groom and Style for the best countertop microwaves around right now – I’m particularly intrigued by the Samsung model.
Baby Stuff
With baby girl due next month, any baby stuff would be greatly appreciated. We’ve almost got everything but there’s still a few things we need to pick up – it would be great to receive them as gifts this festive season.
Books
Whilst I may have a TBR pile a mile high, what person doesn’t love books? I’m always seeing brand new books that I’d love to read or classics that I know I need to get to at some point. I always receive at least one book every Christmas so I am hoping to receive some this year too.
Chocolate
I’m a girl who loves a bit of chocolate and especially now I’m pregnant. I’m often treated to a big box of chocolates at Christmas time so I’m hoping to find one under my tree this Yuletide.
