30 Before 30 | The New York Inclusion

They say you sometimes live vicariously through another person and recently I must admit that I have been living vicariously through my friend Kaye aka The Life & Styles of KLF. She recently fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams of visiting New York and I was so jealous! Her photos all looked amazing and made me want to visit even more.

So what am I going to do about it? Well..I already have 30 things I want to do before I’m 30 but I’ve already managed to scratch one off the list so surely that means I can add another one in, right? So I’ve chosen to add a holiday in New York to my 30 before 30 list. Now…I’m actually planning to visit for my 30th birthday which would mean going out there a couple of days beforehand to ensure I complete my list on time – but that’s achievable, isn’t it?

Obviously this would mean a lot of saving on our parts but I know it is somewhere both Steve and I have always wanted to visit and what better occasion to visit such a place than on a big birthday such as my thirtieth? I’ve even got a list of all the places I would like to visit – some of the popular places people visit when visiting the Big Apple such as Central Park, the Empire State Building and Central Park and the more sombre landmarks such as the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. I would want to spend as much time as possible seeing all the sights and really feeling as if I have made the most of my experience.

Is adding it to my 30 before 30 list very ambitious? Possibly. I will have to save for flights, accommodation and spending money so much research is needed – I will be checking travel sites constantly over the next year or so trying to snap up a good deal where and when possible – I’ve already seen some fantastic New York holiday offers just while browsing the web. I know roughly what sort of a (realistic) budget I will have so its all about saving for it and keeping my eyes peeled for great deals.

Will it be worth it? Oh, undoubtedly. Its somewhere I’ve always wanted to go and after having numerous friends visit the Big Apple over the years, my urge to visit has only increased. It will be an amazing experience and I can’t wait – let’s hope I can make it!

Have you ever been to New York?
