REVIEW: Eisberg Alcohol-Free Wine

I recently received a bottle of Eisberg alcohol free rosé wine for the purpose of review from the lovely Olivia from Eisberg.
I had seen Olivia tweet about bloggers receiving some for review purposes, and as a breastfeeding mum who is off the alcohol (but would still like to be sociable amongst friends), alcohol free wine sounded right up my street!
I enlisted the help of Steve and my friend Emily in reviewing the bottle, and we soon got to work. Described as a refreshingly juicy wine, we were excited to see what it tasted like. We had great fun trying to deduce what fruits we could taste – I said strawberries, Steve said cherries – in fact, we were both right, this rosé has both of these!
On first tasting, I adored it, although Emily, as a seasoned wine drinker, wasn’t so sure – perhaps the fact that she knew it was non-alcoholic is what put her off. Yet she continued to drink it as it started to grow on her. I loved it from the first taste, I’m generally a white wine drinker, but when given the choice of wines to try by the lovely Olivia, I thought it would be nice to branch out of my comfort zone, and I’m glad I did.
A glass of this is a refreshing, succulent treat for expectant mothers, breastfeeding mums and those on a health kick (only 32 calories!), who don’t want to feel left out or appear unsociable at social gatherings. Ever since Jack was born, I have been feeling a little left out when out with friends and I’m relegated to drinking soft drinks. A glass of this certainly lifts my spirits, and I’m definitely thinking about purchasing some once I’ve drained the last little bit out of this bottle (Steve only tried a mouthful of mine, so it means more for me!)
Have you ever tried non-alcoholic wine? What did you think?
You can find Eisberg non-alcoholic wines for sale in a variety of different supermarkets including Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose, or you can look for more stockists on the Eisberg website here.

I received this bottle free for the purpose of review, however as always l, I am 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Bucket List: 21-30 – People I’d love to meet

21. David Tennant
Do you really need to ask why? He was the Doctor. He’s been in Harry Potter. He is absolutely gorgeous….
22. Lindsey Kelk
This fabulous woman writes amazing books, tweets some random stuff and always replies to my tweets because like me, she is a WWE geek. We actually had a Twitter conversation whilst CM Punk was winning the WWE title at Madison Square Gardens. The only difference is, I was watching on my tv at home – and she was there! If you haven’t read any of her books, I fully suggest that you do – they’re definitely worth a read!
23. Edge (Adam Copeland)
Following on from talk about the WWE, I would love to meet this man. He had to retire from the company in 2011, and no one expected it at all! He was at the top of his game, and could have gone on to do a lot more, however injury meant he could not go on forever, for risk on injuring himself much more seriously. One of the best wrestlers to ever pass through the WWE, and there’s something about him too 😉
24. Drew Barrymore
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love Drew. She is one of my favourite actresses, she just seems like she’d be great as your best friend.
25. Matt Smith
Yes, another Doctor. Not quite my favourite Mr Tennant, but he’s the Doctor! He wears a stetson – they’re cool, didn’t you know? Haha.
26. Martina Cole
She writes some nitty, gritty books about the dark side of London, and I’d love to talk to her about where she gets her inspiration from.

27. John Barrowman
Another Dr Who themed person, Captain Jack Harkness. I’d love to meet John because he’s the whole package – he sings, he acts, he’s good looking…if only he wasn’t gay 🙁
28. Barack Obama
Definitely one of the most important men in the world right now. I’d want to see what he’s really like.
29. Nicky Byrne
Just a bit of eye candy, you see….
30. All of you lovely bloggers 🙂
Everyone who follows, reads and comments on this blog – I’d like to meet you all to thank you personally 🙂

Week In Pictures

I apologise in advance as the majority of these pictures are food based – Steve has made a few wonderful meals this week!
Garlic chicken and mixed veg with mashed potato and peas – Steve made this the other night for us and a friend! I adored it – as a major garlic fan, why wouldn’t I? However, our friend found the garlic flavour a bit too strong for his tastes.
I blogged about my Tasty Little Numbers win in my Project 365 post here. For low calorie food, although it doesn’t look all too appetising, it is actually lovely! The first pot I tried was the sausage and beans pictured above.
I then tried the Chilli Con Carne pot. Again, doesn’t look too appetising, does it? It turned out to be one of the best chillis I have ever had! I didn’t take a picture of the Chicken Tikka Masala pot as I thought you’d be bored of the Tasty Little Numbers food by now!
I’ve been pretty good with my diet and fitness recently, if you don’t count the calzone and pizza this week, nor the McDonalds this evening! I’ve signed up to My Fitness Pal to help keep on top of the calories I’m eating, and to make sure I’m eating enough – but not over my daily amount. You can also input what exercise you do too. At the weight I am now, if I continue to do the exercise I’m doing and eat the food I’m eating (discounting the McDonalds of course), I’m on track to lose 7.5 pounds by March the 10th! Wish me luck!
Our canvas from Bounty finally arrived after a few emails to ask where it had got to! Apparently it wasn’t on the original order form, yet we’d been charged for it? In what world can that occur? Surely it would have to be on the original form for them to take the payment for it? Anyway, we received it this week and it now takes pride of place in our living room. Money well spent 🙂
Half a meatball calzone and half a cheesy calzone – the meatball one is divine! Steve & I originally bought the meatball one for him, and the cheese one for me, but we both decided we wanted to try the others, so split them both in half! Yum. As always, I have to include a dollop of ketchup.
I received a bottle of alcohol-free wine through the post this week to review on here. As a breastfeeding mum on a health kick, this couldn’t have come at a better time, as I’ve been wanting to enjoy a tipple without any guilt. I shall be enjoying a glass of this at some time this afternoon with Steve and a friend – look forward to a review coming soon!
Sticky Pork pizza and a whole mature cheese and red onion garlic flatbread – I’m such a pig! One of my more unhealthy dinners this week, but super tasty nonetheless.
Definitely going to be doing a Project Bathroom asap. Since I last took a picture, more and more products have appeared on there! It’s bad, I know! Jack also seems to be developing a little collection of his own – the amount of baby shampoos, baby bath and other products that we’ve amassed is unreal!
My meal last night – sweet chilli chicken with rice. We were going to have noodles but we looked in our cupboard and realised they were out of date by about a week – eek! This was possibly my favourite meal of the week 🙂
Have you done a week in pictures post? I’d love to see it!
