James & The Giant Peach 250 Piece Puzzle | Review & Giveaway

James and the giant peach 250 piece puzzle box

This item was sent for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

Jack has recently been reading James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl with his Daddy. Jack is a little bookworm and loves reading to us, reading to himself and us reading to him. James and the Giant Peach is his Daddy’s favourite book from childhood and they are loving reading it together – each taking it a couple of pages at a time so Jack can practice his reading.

Ever since they started reading the book together, Jack has beenΒ just a little bit obsessed with the story. He’s watched the film and was recently asked if he’d like to review this puzzle from Paul Lamond Games, priced at Β£8.95- he didn’t need asking twice.

James and the giant peach 250 piece puzzle boxThis puzzle is 250 pieces so perfect for Jack’s age – it even says on the box ages 6+. He finds jigsaw puzzles with much less pieces far too easy and then finds others with more pieces a little too hard so these are just the right amount of pieces for him. Jack loves doing puzzles by himself but also loves making it an experience with us and he sat down to put together this puzzle with the help of his Daddy.

He could see that there was an orange border to the puzzle so ensured that he found all the orange edge pieces and made a frame before filling in the middle with the remaining puzzle pieces.

James and the giant peach 250 piece puzzle completedAfter a couple of hours, the puzzle was finally complete. This is what I love about puzzles – they can keep our attentions for so long. Jack worked attentively on this until it was complete and was so excited when he popped the final piece into place. He’s already taken it apart and started again on it.

We love puzzles as a family – they bring us together and they are something we all love doing as a family. We’re hoping that when we move houses, we’ll have a room that we can use as a playroom and we’ll have a special section set out just for doing jigsaw puzzles – maybe even with one of those puzzle mats. They are fun to do, they keep your children’s minds whirring and when paired with such iconic stories like these, keep everyone interested too.

Jack has already asked if we can buy the other Roald Dahl puzzles available on Paul Lamond Games – and I’m inclined to say yes – and do you know what is absolutely fantastic? We’ve been offered the chance to give one of these gorgeous James and the Giant Peach 250 piece puzzles away to one of you lucky readers!
