Jack: Six Months On

Jack: Six Months On
That’s right, my beautiful little boy is six months old today…he’s growing up so fast! I can’t believe how quick this time has flown. He’s now sitting up unaided and is pretty much crawling, he’s mastered the basics of it and he’s started to go places. He’s also managed to pull himself up on the sofa and stand by himself for a few seconds…it’s all so crazy! He’s desperately trying to say something, you often hear him saying something like ‘mumumumumumumumummmmm’ or ‘dedadadadeda’ which, of course, can sometimes sound like mum and dad!
He is definitely starting to develop his taste buds – he still loves his fruit pots, rice pudding, egg custard and any form of porridge, he quite likes pumpkin, chicken and rice or pasta bolognese – but he absolutely hates chocolate pudding and cauliflower cheese. We’re going to try him on these again in a few weeks time to see if his taste buds have changed.
I could go on and on for ages about Jack but I’m sure you’ll all get bored, so I’ll leave it for now. I can’t wait to see what he’ll be doing, ready for next months update!

Jack: Five Months On

Jack: Five Months On
I can’t believe that I’m three days late in posting this! It completely slipped my mind until 1am this morning when I was thinking about his monthly updates and realised I hadn’t yet written one!
So what is Jack doing now?
I’m getting used to big beaming smiles, hearty little giggles, full-blown whinges. He’s learnt to roll over and managed to roll right under Steve’s recliner seat the other day! Steve obviously couldn’t move to get him, so I had to rescue him…I don’t think Jack was too pleased that we had ruined his fun!
He is desperately trying to crawl – he’s almost got it, but he seems to think his head is a battering ram and that if he keeps ramming things, he can move them out of his way! He’s also trying to copy us now. Although he can’t speak, he is trying to form words, his lips often try to move in the same way as ours – and sometimes the noises he make sound just like what we said!
He loves his cuddles at the minute and has developed an attachment to our friend Duncan – sometimes he wants Duncan rather than me!! – but it’s nice to see that he’s not afraid of people. He is a very social baby and I’m sure he loves all the attention.
I can’t believe he is going to be 6 months next month, where has the time gone?

Spending My Time; Watching The Days Go By

Spending My Time; Watching The Days Go By
Not a very wordy post today, just spending some time with my little boy – he’s nearly 5 months old now and time is going by so quickly, so I am going to quickly check my emails, list some things on Ebay, then get back to having cuddles with him when he wakes up from his nap. Then it’s time for my tv night – Touch, Alcatraz and a film.

Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with this little picture that just melts my heart…

Jack: Four Months On

Jack: Four Months On
How grumpy can one little boy look?
That’s right – Jack is now four months old!
So what has he been doing for the past month? He’s rolling over from stomach to back and almost conquered rolling from back to stomach. He’s developed quite a personality, he’s generally very chatty and giggly when awake (unless he wants something, of course!)
He’s starting to respond properly to his name now – he used to just look around when we called his name, but now searches around the room until he can find us and smiles.
HE’S STARTED ON SOLIDS! Only one a day, but it’s a start – he’s eating most of the things we put in front of him but seems to prefer the fruity purees more. Once he’s having a few more purees a day, we’ve decided we’ll start making our own.
He had his 4 month injections the other day and they really did not go down too well. He screamed for an hour on Monday night after them and would not settle down, no matter what we tried. He seems okay now though, but I’m glad he doesn’t need any more injections until he’s a year old!
Do you like reading monthly updates on Jack? Is there anything else you’d like to see on Futures?

Project FAIL & a Jack photobomb

Project FAIL & a Jack photobomb
So.
I failed miserably at the Project 365 – I kept forgetting to take pictures on some days and took loads on other days – it just wasn’t enjoyable for me and I’d much rather go back to doing Week In Pictures posts where I can put as many (or as little) pictures as I want. On that note, here is my week in pictures for the week just gone, beware it is a Jack photobomb opportunity…
Posing//Posing again//Cuddles with Auntie Sophie//Sunday lunch//Playing with Mummy’s phone and accidentally taking a picture of himself//First ever baby food puree//He liked it so much, he finished the pot//Remnants of an afternoon munching a Farley’s Rusk
