Being pregnant is a wonderful thing but there are just some things that you really miss when you’re pregnant. With five weeks to go, I’ve been thinking of the various things I am looking forward to post pregnancy – did any of these feature on your list when you were pregnant?
Eating Certain Foods
I can’t tell you how difficult it has been visiting the supermarkets recently and seeing all the lovely pate and soft cheese that I just know I’m not allowed. I can’t wait until I am able to eat them again as I have really been missing them during this pregnancy and actually craved them at one point…eek!
Getting Back Into My Fitness Routine
Before I fell pregnant, I was on Slimming World and had lost 1.5 stone from food optimising and actually starting a fitness routine. Walking, running, squash all featured in my fitness routine and with my aim to lose my baby weight by Summer, I will need to get back into my fitness routine as I was really starting to enjoy it.
Whilst I do look to look after myself during pregnancy, nothing beats having a treat and pamper day in the months after having baby. A new haircut and colour (I avoid dying my hair when pregnant), a holistic massage from a clinic like ML Chiropractic (or even a deep tissue massage if I’ve had a particularly gruelling fitness session), some new bath bombs – I cannot wait to have a day like this at some point in the next few months.
Sleeping In A Different Position
This may sound bizarre but laying on your side sure can get annoying when pregnant. You obviously cannot lie on your stomach and in later pregnancy, you are advised to avoid laying on your back because your baby is pressing on the vein that returns blood from your lower body to your heart – you don’t want to risk cutting off that circulation.
I often lay on my side when not pregnant but its amazing how much you miss lying on your back or stomach when you’re not meant to do it – it will be nice to get a good nights sleep without having to worry about what way I should be laying!
