Christmas Gift Guide | For Him

Buying for the man in your life can be ever so difficult. Steve, my Dad and his Dad are notoriously hard to buy for and I struggle each year to not buy them the same thing yet again. Here are my top items to pick up for the man in your life this Christmas.

Clothing is always a good bet and with it getting super cold, something warm is a great idea. I am particularly liking the knitwear range at House of Fraser – especially their golf jumpers right now as I’m pretty sure both Steve and his Dad are in need of new ones. One thing to tick off the Christmas list for each! Prices vary but are always affordable – this golf jumper is currently reduced to just £25! ^

This UnderArmour Health Box may be a little on the pricier side of your budget at £349 but if you have a man in your life who likes to measure and monitor their fitness, perhaps this is the present for them!

I know of plenty of men who like to measure their fitness – whilst Steve currently uses an app on his phone, I would certainly consider getting him this if I had the spare cash.

I’d also grab him the HTC 10 if I had the spare ££ – he’s already wanting to upgrade his phone and this looks fantastic – in fact I even want one for myself!

powerhealth-beard-oil-citrus-blend powerhealth-beard-oil-warming-blend

These beard oils from Power Health are just £8.99 apiece and come in two fab blends – the citrus blend or the warming blend. I love the packaging and think that getting 50ml of product for just £8.99 is a total bargain!

I mentioned above that Steve and his Dad – even his brother – love a good round of golf so the Pocket Bunker™ would potentially be a fab gift for any golf loving man in your family. It is the perfect training aid for any golf fan – whether they are a novice or a professional – to practise that tricky bunker shot anywhere, anytime. The portable, pocket-sized gadget closely resembles the look and weight of a PGA (R&A) approved golf ball, except it has legs that act as sand simulators. Played from just about any surface, it reacts with the resistance and feel of bunker sand, resulting in an unparalleled bunker practice experience.

Starting from $25 for a pack of 3 here and also currently available on Amazon and Etsy too, this would make a great gift for a sports lover.

If the man in your life likes taking care of himself, perhaps one of these kits from Bulldog Skincare may be an option. The Skincare Duo Set (RRP £10, available at Tesco, ASDA and Co-Op), Beard Care Kit (RRP £12, available at Boots exclusively) or the Shaving Kit (RRP £15, available at Boots exclusively) are all fab gifts for the skincare loving man and you can ensure that he gets to look after his skin whilst you’ve managed to grab his gift on an affordable budget.

These are just a couple of ideas of what you can buy the man in your life this Christmas – keep your eyes peeled for my food & drink gift guide, gift guide for her, children’s gift guide and home & tech gift guides coming soon. What ideas have you got for the man in your life?

What Should I Get My Grandparents For Grandparents’ Day?

Have you ever heard of Grandparents’ Day? I must admit that I never had until I started working in a greetings card shop. Since then, the day has grown in prominence and this year it will be celebrated on the 2nd of October.

Now my grandparents probably have no clue what it is so it will be a nice surprise for them if they get a nice little present from me. But what do you get for grandparents who probably have everything? Here are some gift ideas for the special people in your life.

My Nan would be super easy to buy for. She is super stylish, even at nearly 80 years old, and I am sure that she would love some new makeup, jewellery or even a clothing voucher. She tends to visit charity shops for her clothing more now so it would be nice to treat her to some brand spanking new clothes from a high street store.breakbarriersMy Granddad is a lot harder to buy for – and since my Dad is a granddad too, lets not forget him – he is also notoriously hard to buy for! Socks, pants and crossword puzzles are what I or Jack tend to opt for as you can’t really go wrong but it can get a bit boring after a while. I’ve been taking a look at the range available of Chums menswear and I can definitely see some items I would be happy to pick up for my dad or granddad – unlike us ladies, the men in my life much prefer us ladies to do their clothes shopping for them so I can guarantee that whatever I pick will be much appreciated and well used.

my mother. She should be the easiest person to buy for but over the past 26 years, I think I have exhausted every option especially as I now have to buy her presents from Jack too. Bags, clothes, perfumes, books, music – she’ll always be appreciative and use them constantly but the problem is remembering what I haven’t bought her – I have to check in with her and see if there is anything in particular that she wants otherwise I am bound to buy her something she already has. Since having Jack, gift buying has become so much more difficult!

Have you ever heard of Grandparents’ Day before today? If so, do you celebrate it? What sort of things do you buy for your grandparents to show them how much you love and appreciate them?

Last Minute Fathers Day Gift Guide

Is it me or has Fathers Day appeared out of nowhere this year? I have only just realised that both myself and Jack were yet to buy cards, let alone presents – and I ended up buying one for Jack to give to Steve as I don’t think his nursery have made them for their Dads unlike they did for us mothers on Mother’s Day which is a shame if so. I know Steve will be disappointed if so!

Here is my last minute gift guide on some fun and some practical gifts you can get the man in your life this Fathers Day..

Sugru Starter Kit  – £10

I think I mention Sugru in every gift guide I publish and there is a reason for that – the stuff is fab! My Dad swears by it now since I introduced him to it and this starter kit would make a fab gift for the man in your life. With 5 packs of Sugru and a booklet on some easy home hacks, this moldable glue will transform your life – and my Dad can’t wait to get his hands on some more!

Skateboard from

Thinking outside the box here but we all know someone whose Dad is completely young at heart so why not consider getting him a skateboard? Its not the most obvious or cliche gift and will potentially get used a lot more than others…what do you think?

Zippo Lighter – £16.25

20160617_093823 (1)

For as long as I’ve known Steve, he’s owned Zippo lighters. You mention lighters and everyone knows the Zippo brand. They stand for quality, they’re prestigious and they make a great gift for Fathers Day. Whether the man in your life is a smoker or just uses a lighter for everyday use around the house, Zippo are definitely the best option as they will stand the test of time.

Deco London fragrances

I recently received a sample bag (£12) like the one pictured above with a couple of the fantastic gentlemen’s scents from Deco London in sample sizes included. With the bottles of scents being £75, this is a great way of distinguishing which one your father or partner would prefer before committing to buying the full size. I don’t even know if I can pick a favourite, they all smell so good!

An engraved pen from Pen Heaven

Steve is always saying how it would be nice to have a pen of his own, a nice one rather than the cheap biros we have scattered around the house. Pen Heaven offer this very thing and recently sent me this gorgeous pen engraved with Steve’s name. Of course, now that he’s got a nice pen he hasn’t used it yet because its so nice but this would make a nice present for someone who uses pens throughout the day on a day to day basis.

Vileda Windomatic- £49.99

Car stuff will always go down a treat and this Vileda Windomatic helps to clean car screens and windows with a streak free finish!

With its flexible head and rubber lip for getting into hard-to-reach corners and edges, the Vileda Windomatic is lightweight and ergonomically designed to suck away the dirty water from car windows and screens.

It doesn’t just have to be used on cars – all types of glass can be cleaned using the Windomatic which makes this a very useful gadget that would definitely get plenty of use should your father receive one this year.

This is just a selection of the fab gifts available for Fathers Day this year – what are you planning to buy?

Last Minute Gift Idea | Chatty Feet

Do you love vibrant socks? How about the people you are buying for? I know socks are a very cliche present but you have never seen socks like Chatty Feet socks before! Known as the ‘funny socks with cool faces’, we were recently sent some pairs to try out.

Jack, of course, loved them on first sight. Sock with faces on, what’s not to love? With Chatty Feet claiming to ‘make funny socks with witty names to make you smile and bring a little fun into your day. With cheeky characters for kids and adults, you’ll be sure to find an unusual gift to match your pal’s personality.’

Chatty Feet

I was sent the Frida Callus socks to wear and Jack was sent the Feetasso. I love how vibrant and different these socks are from other socks you find on the market. With socks available for men, women and children, these would make the perfect gift and if you sign up to their newsletter, you can get £2 off of your order!

The Frida Kallus socks for adults retail for £7.50 which I think is an affordable price for such fun socks. We all know that the cheap multipacks of plain boring socks never last very long so I am more than happy to spend a little more on good quality, colourful ones that bring a little more cheer to people’s lives. These are very good quality too, like I said. They are really comfortable, not scratchy at all as some poorer quality socks can be. After use, they wash well and don’t use any of the quality or colour vibrancy which is a big plus for me. I am always on my feet so I need a good pair of socks that won’t wear away or lose quality within minutes and Chatty Feet definitely seem to have delivered.

Chatty Feet

When it comes to Jack’s Feetasso socks, well…whenever he wears them he refuses to take them off so that probably tells you something! He says they are ‘comfy’ and much like mine, don’t seem to irritate him at all. We all know how children love things that aren’t plain and Jack’s already pointed out other socks he would like from the Chatty Feet website as they are ‘fun’. Children’s socks retail for £5 on the Chatty Feet site.

Do you ever wear colourful or characterised socks or do you prefer to stick to the plain and boring styles?

Last Minute Christmas Gift Guide

If you are struggling when it comes to those last minute Christmas gifts, fear not as I have a last minute Christmas gift guide for you all. I’ve already shown you my children’s gift guide, my fashion & beauty gift guide and my food & drink gift guide but here are some last minute gifts for if you really have no clue.

First of all we have some last minute grooming gifts. Shaving gel and a new razor such as this Gillette Fusion ProGlide razor & gel are always handy little stocking fillers as they are affordable and cheap too – the men in your life would appreciate them as an extra gift. For the ladies, how about this Braun Satin Hair 7 hairbrush? The Braun Satin-Hair 7 brush is easy to use, 100% portable, fights frizz and removes static. You can directly see and feel the difference as your hair will look shinier and feel smoother. Braun products are available on these websites but you can also pick this up on Amazon here.

If the person you are buying for is looking for a better night’s sleep, why not pick them up the Lumie Bodyclock? Bodyclock is a range of dawn simulators – alarm clocks that wake you up gradually with increasing light. The light cues your body to set a healthy sleep cycle, get up, beat winter blues, and to feel alert, refreshed and energetic all day. Choose from the range here.

I was recently sent the Magnitone Barefaced to review and a full review will be coming soon but if someone you know is passionate about skincare and looking after themselves, perhaps the Magnitone Barefaced Daily Cleansing Brush is the item for them?

Perhaps a new book would be more their thing or a new DVD? I’ve recently purchased Steve a new PS4 game for Christmas alongside his main present – he doesn’t really want much so its far easier to stick to what I know. He knows which game he has got so he doesn’t mind me sharing it with you – especially on the great deal it is now on. When Steve looked last week or the week before, the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate game was £20 more expensive than it is now. I had to pick it up as he has wanted it for ages – so if someone you know loves video games, get checking shops for some fabulous deals.

These are just a few ideas for some last minute gift – have you finished shopping yet?
